Spoilt for choice

As some of you might know, my boyfriend finally, recently proposed (*cough* six and a half years *cough*)and we are in the process of planning our wedding/Aussie & Asian invasion.

Neither of us are remotely interested in a traditional church wedding and contrary to popular belief, I'm not that materialistic (OK, maybe a little) and I don't particularly like to be centre of attention (subject to change after Rosé ), I also don't want to start married life in thousands of pounds worth of debt, I already owe quite enough to the Student Loans Company, thank you very much.

So (as we were heading that way anyway) we have decided on a simple (but very romantic ) wedding in Thailand, on a beach, no guests, no cake, no shoes - I'm with Jen Aniston on the barefoot thing(see this week's Grazia.)

This low-key affair means that the altar/canopy is amongst the very few decisions that I, sorry, that we, have to make. (Monica Moment.)

Ummm yeah, so I think that's about it....just as well really because I am starting to feel slightly stressed as it is, god knows how 'normal' brides get through their Big White Weddings without having a coronary.

Do you take thee?

Would you get married abroad, and which altar do you think I should pick?

The Virgin Suicides

After reading super blogger Tavi's (rather obsessive) posts about The Virgin Suicides on her blog The Style Rookie AND reading Elle Fanning referencing her style to the film AND seeing this stunning picture of Kirsten on one of my favourite blogs - Alice in Wardrobe Wonderland, I realised that although I vaguely remember watching The Virgin Suicides years ago I can't actually recall any part of the film.

It looks like an amazing film and after a quick EBay bid, my DVD arrived this morning; along with my copy of LOVE magazine. That's my activities for the day sorted.

Word of the Week

Quixotic(adj)

Extremely romantic and chivalrous.

Sunday's Child

My idea of a successful Sunday should include the following:

  • Come Dine With Me marathon
  • Duvet
  • Sofa
  • Roast dinner with home made yorkies and plenty of vegetables
  • Rain - I hate staying indoors when there is potential for sunbathing
  • DVDs Ahoy

My top five Sunday DVDs of choice are as follows:

1. Breakfast at Tiffany's

Because all good Sundays need an injection of glamour.

2. The Beach

Because I <3 dreaming of Thailand.

3. UP

If you can't watch a Disney and cry on a Sunday when can you?

4. My Fair Lady

You can never have too much Audrey.

5. Desperate Housewives boxset

Even Sundays shouldn't be completely drama free.

What's your favourite Sunday film?

What Lies Beneath

I'm still waiting for my copy of LOVE magazine #6 to be delivered - oh the dramas of not living in London, but from what I've seen of the editorials it's going to be worth the wait.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Elle Fanning's cover which I think is absolutely stunning, is it acceptable to have a girl crush on a 13 year old?

What Lies Beneath, shot by Mert and Marcus, is one of the darkest shoots I have ever seen but I'm surprisingly taken with it and can't wait to see it in print. There have been rumours flying around about the originality of the edgy editorial and even accusations of plagiarism. Looking at the supposed inspiration for the shoot; it is very similar, but that doesn't take away from it's beauty.

What do you think of What Lies Beneath and have you got your copy of LOVE yet?
